LAND.SKY.HEAVEN.X
Primitive landscapes that explore the thin veil between our world + the next; where heaven and earth collide.
poetic mend
The Poetic Mend collection attempts to capture the beauty of brokenness + repair. Inspired by the Japanese art of “kintsugi” these gilded vessels have been made whole with golden seams.
CARVED BOTANICALS
These mixed media, original works are created by layering pencil, acrylic, gouache and heavy modeling paste or oil to set the stage for delicately carved botanicals.
GROUND
GROUND explores the gentle introduction to spring. Instead of full bloomed trees, I focus on new leaves, saturated with washes of lime sprouting slowly from entangled branches. I use a limited color palette to evoke a warm nostalgia that feels earthy and grounded.
MAGNOLIA iV
original mixed media works on paper + canvas
CANDIED LAND
playful topography + vast glowing skies
HERBARIUM
Inspired by Emily Dickinson’s journals, poems and personal “herbarium;” this series explores the collected, delicate quality of pressed botanicals and the way in which they are preserved on the page.
MILK & HONEY
Mixed media original works on paper and wood panel.
ALIGN
This new body of work takes the Land.Sky.Heaven collection one step further; visually reflecting the idea of focus and aligning one’s self with the truth. The ALIGN collection is comprised of offbeat, vibrant color palettes. Layers of thin and thick washes of color and mediums give each work a meandering history that each end in a focused, purposeful finish. The marriage of tactile surfaces juxtaposed against the exact nature of an underlying grid and circle create a loosely held tension; pointing to the concept of blocking out the noise of life to focus on what is true and real for each of us.
HONEYSUCKLES
These mixed media, original works are created by layering pencil, acrylic, gouache and oil to set the stage for delicately carved botanicals.
